We offer a wide range of materials and colors that are suitable for any project.
We build every product on steel from Baosteel with a BaoAM® hot-dip aluminium-zinc-magnesium (Al-Zn-Mg) coating. BaoAM® is an upgraded version of the conventional aluzinc (GL) coating, with magnesium added to the alloy. The result is a material with considerably better corrosion resistance, both across flat surfaces and at cut edges, which makes it particularly well suited to Icelandic conditions.
The coating is chromium-free and meets the requirements of the ROHS and REACH directives. The steel is produced to the Q/BQB 425-2023 standard.

The BaoAM® coating consists of 47–57% aluminium, 1–3% magnesium, 1–2% silicon and the remainder zinc. This particular alloy forms three separate protective phases in the surface (an Mg₂Si phase, an aluminium-rich phase and a zinc/Zn-Mg phase) that work together to protect the base steel.
Better corrosion resistance on flat surfaces. In salt spray testing to ASTM B117, BaoAM® lasts on average 50% longer than a conventional GL coating of the same thickness before red rust appears. In cyclic testing to JIS H8502, which better reflects real conditions with alternating humidity, drying and salt spray, it lasts close to twice as long.
Considerably better protection at cut edges and bends. The magnesium in the alloy gives unprotected edges and bent sections particular protection. At bends the corrosion resistance is roughly twice that of GL, and two-year outdoor exposure tests show around a third less weight loss to rust.
A surface that takes paint well. BaoAM® retains better corrosion resistance underneath the paint layer than GL, which gives coloured sheets a longer service life.
The colour is applied at the factory on a continuous production line and cured onto the surface. The result is a thick, smooth and durable finish in selected RAL colours.
